Welcome to my travel blog! My name is Lori and I retired in 2019. I sold my home and just about everything I owned in 2021 so I could travel full-time in my 2022 Keystone Cougar 26RBS travel trailer. Join me and my dog, Sage, as we explore this great country and all its hidden and not so hidden treasures.

My partner in crime. Sage is a rescue I adopted in July 2022. She's a mix of about 7 different breeds but mostly pit/staffie/boxer. I tell people she's embarrassingly friendly and can't hold her licker. She's adjusted well to life on the road and is such good company.

Niagara Falls
9-11 Jun 2026 American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls From one of the worst to wonderful! This campsite was one of the best I've ever had. I stayed at Four Mile Creek State Park, about 25 minutes from Niagara Falls. The campground was quiet, well kept and right on Lake Ontario. There was a big field right behind the camper where I could throw the ball to Sage. She was a happy girl. If there's water she will get in it. We both dipped our feet in Lake Ontario. It wasn't nearly as

Watkins Glen
7-9 Jun 2026 Watkins Glen Gorge For years I had read about how fabulous Watkins Glen in the finger lakes region of New York was and the pictures looked amazing. For that reason, it has been on my bucket list for years so I was so excited to finally get here! We stayed at the Watkins Glen State Park campground which is beautiful. As I've found with most state parks in the northeast they have water fill stations throughout the park with only electric at the campsites. I have to

Grist Mill and Covered Bridges
3-7 Jun 2026 I spent a few days near Newport PA at Little Buffalo State Park. The area is known for the many covered bridges. This is a short entry as I was only there three days and one of those was raining like crazy. Shoaff's Grist Mill Had a great campsite at Little Buffalo State Park There were honeysuckle vines along the edge of my campsite that smelled so good. Yes, I did pick a few and sucked the nectar out. I remember doing that as a child and it brought back some go

Two Rivers, Three States
30 May - 3 Jun 2026 Today we arrived in a historic and unique place - Harpers Ferry WV. Harpers Ferry sits at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers near the borders of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. We actually stayed at Brunswick Family Campground in Brunswick MD. It was kind of cool driving through all three states to get from the campground to Harpers Ferry. Because of this unique location, it made Harpers Ferry a vital transportation and industrial h

Natural Chimneys and Shenandoah
23-30 May 2026 The "chimneys" at Natural Chimneys Park I originally had reservations for Big Meadows Campground inside Shenandoah National Park. The weather, however, wasn't going to cooperate. It rained almost the whole week which meant I'd get little to no solar and the temps were going to be a little too warm for no air conditioning. I was somehow able to snag a week at Natural Chimneys Park and Campground in nearby Mt Solon VA even though it was Memorial weekend. But firs

Almost Heaven, West Virginia
18-23 May 2026 My first time in West Virginia was amazing! The scenery is gorgeous even though the roads were steep, winding and narrow. Everything was lush and green. I stayed at Babcock State Park near New River Gorge National Park. Babcock is a smallish campground and has a historic grist mill in the park. There were lots of trails, but we never got around to exploring any of them. The campground was quiet and very well maintained. They have these swings all over West Virg

On the Road Again
2-11 May 2026 We were supposed to leave 1 May but the weather in Livingston was bad so we postponed it a day. In honor of being back on the road I wore my "On the Road Again" t-shirt Our first stop was supposed to be Natchez State Park, MS. I didn't know there was an old and new loop and had booked a site in the old loop. That entire loop should be condemned! The road to it is one way and very narrow. Heaven help you if you meet someone exiting the campground because there's

An update for the new people
Since I haven't been blogging for the last two years I thought I'd do an entry explaining what happened. In Mar 2024 I went to the ER with heart palpitations, shortness of breath and could hardly walk 20 feet. To make a long story short, in May 2024 I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, a rare, progressive and incurable lung disease that also caused right sided heart failure. I was extremely sick and was immediately started on several drugs. I got a little bet
